Location and Price are fantastic. The room was clean although Facilities may need a bit of upkeep due to wear and Tear. Overall good value for money and ideal if you’re looking for decent functional place to rest.
Hotel view is amazing.
Good location. Strong wifi. Great and helpful staff. Big room. Hotel is run down and perhaps not to everybodies taste and a bit noisy with rascals at night on ground level.
Far from being “well known” the first two taxi drivers we tried had never heard of it and we had to direct another one via Google maps. There is no street visible signage outside the building. The gloomy entry and apathetic staff added to the sense of foreboding from the start. The lift has no lights on the panel, inside or out, half the knobs are broken or missing and there is no floor signage. Our room was big, but cluttered with huge, non functional cabinets that had old tvs in them. Would have been better just have a couple of suitcase stands instead of having to use the chairs for this. These were positioned away from the tv anyway, so the entire room layout was disfunctional. The place is filthy, the mass of black muck on the shower tiles could be scraped off, evidence that nobody has ever tried. Stained bedsheets and worn out, stained towels and dirty chairs just added to the experience. Practically everything in the room (I infer hotel) was either broken, missing or barely useable. Huge holes in the toilet wall, doors that don’t close, handles and knobs missing everywhere, a disaster. Even the most basic of maintenance hasn’t been done in years. Our interaction with other guests suggests we were not alone. At least our toilet didn’t leak. What unnerved me the most was when I went to pay for my laundry with cash at the front desk. I almost walked away missing a $50 note that somehow found its way into the cash tin. I got it back, but I think it was no mistake. All sense of trust now gone. The one glowing comment I would like to add, is that our room, on the southern side, faced directly over the park and even had water views. A great outlook. If you really must stay here, bring your own antiseptic and linen, and sleep on your wallet.
“Acceptable”
I had checked in and within an hour checked out due to unsatisfactory room ambience. There was a stuffy smell in the room and the lift was not working as well where we had to go 4 floors by stairs. Cleanliness is a major concern and the experience fell short in several areas. Upon indicating my dissatisfaction and opting to check out, the staff did not respond with any alternative rooms or other service suggestions which shows their incompetence or lack of training/development skills. Also the booking confirmation stated parking space but I had to park in the paid space beside the property due to unavailability and limited parking spaces. I knew that my booking won’t be refunded but at least there should have been some accountability for my experience. Hope this will assist the management team to improve on few things and mostly focus on developing staff skills to ensure they are competent and capable to manage such situations.
