We stayed at The Ritz Village for 13 nights. It is a nice hotel in a historical complex of buildings and recently acquired by Correndon. It looks freshly painted and appealing, but here and there it is noticeable that some renovations are needed. We stayed in an apartment at the back of the hotel and that was fairly new (2004). The apartment itself was not too big, but with a a large terrace. A full width roller shutter separates the area and when open it creates a large living area. Disadvantage of the shutter is that the area is either open or closed. One with a door would be more convenient. The apartment is equipped with a small induction hob, washing machine, fridge and has a nice shower/bathroom. Beds are very comfortable but fairly high. A small little person could have difficulties climbing onto the bed. Although there is no safe deposit box in the room a key for the room with the washing machine can be obtained at the reception for a US200 deposit. The restaurant and bar are all the way at the end of the hotel area, next to the swimming pool and nice “beach”. Breakfast is fairly simple but adequate. Although we had the issue that during the first week there were more and more items missing each day making the breakfast poor. But after contacting the management the problem was solved from the next day. There are more facilities but we didn’t visit them. The location is very close the Willemstad city center, only 15 mins walk. But the street the hotel is on has several dilapidated buildings making it unappealing. Staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. Would I come back? Yes, absolutely. But probably not for 2 weeks.
Staff good , clean and nice I like it .
The ritz village was fine, however just know what to expect. If you come prepared it’s really not bad. There is no hot water in the showers, sometimes cold or sometimes tepid …but not hot. That was fine for us as it was the hottest month that we were there and we were sweaty when showering anyways. There is no shampoo/conditioner and the soap to wash with is hand soap, so just bring your own toiletries. The location is walkable to all the stuff we wanted to see and so was the bus stop. There isn’t a blanket on the bed, you’re just expected to sleep with a top sheet. That was the only thing a little frustrating because I’m someone who requires a real blanket to sleep comfortably so if that’s the same for you, just bring your own light blanket. Otherwise the staff is really friendly and accommodating and the location was tucked away and safe while being close to everything we needed!
Friendly staff, great amenities, the pictures can be a bit misleading at times since you have to consider they have to repaint probably often due to the humidity but the facilities for a single person is worth it especially the standard double room!
“Exceptional”
