The room: musty. Very musty. So musty that I got fairly sick. The ac helped a bit but what we really wanted to do was open the windows, which, we learned the hard way, was a horrible idea. A swarm of mosquitoes came in through our window the moment we opened it in the morning. It was, in a word, horrible packing up to leave with mosquitoes everywhere. Would not recommend, would not stay again.
This hotel is in need of a major facelift!!!! There were holes in the wall in the main building. Whilst it was right next the Mekong, music from the jumping castle in the night market starts around 5pm then stops around 9pm just in time for the karaoke next door to start & continues until midnight. I was placed in the motel style room next to the main building and I would consider they were in much better condition than the rooms in the building itself & also cheaper. I had my own mosquito coils & had the air con blasted at 18 degs at all times (even when I was out during the day) to keep the mosquitoes at bay. But the staffs were friendly & helpful despite the language barrier. Finally the toilet flooded couple of times even I didn't flush anything down the drain.
I like it here because it is right on the Mekong river road and the huge old garden view room is quiet, very cool and has 2 big windows with screens which you can open.....Short walk to restaurants and the Plaza.
Checked in late and staff was rude. Couldn't find my agoda booking and said they are full first and 'we are full' and 'no booking' were the only english word that the guy could use, so it was a little hard to communicate Got my room at the end. Big bed, a/c, warm shower. It was close to the carpark, so a little noisy and a temple is in close distance as well from where you can get some noise, didn't bother me
“Really deteriorated!”
I have stayed here a few times but not for a couple of years. The quiet garden outlook I really liked is now a noisy night market directly next door! There are no fridges in the rooms now and the TV had no remote. My room looked clean but smelled bad. On top of this there is now major construction being carried out all around the hotel grounds with angle grinding and paint spraying right beneath hotel room windows
