Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary

National capital region of Delhi has a very popular Weekend destination called the Sultanpur bird sanctuary. Located in Haryan state it has been declared as a national park by the state government. A lot of effort and money has been spent by state government for development of this sanctuary. A lot of fresh vegetation has been planted in this park. Major trees which are present in the park are Acacia Nilotica, Neem, Bearies, Nilotica, etc. It is located 40 km away from Delhi and just 15 km from Gurgoan and takes only 1 hour by road.

The best time to visit this park is in winter season as many migrating birds come here from all over the world. About 250 species of birds are found in this national park some of these birds come from Siberia, Afghanistan etc. and others are local species. Amongst the local birds are Purple Sunbird, Little Cormorant, Gray and Black Francolin, White Kingfisher, Parakeet, Rock Pigeon, Magpie Robin, etc. There are over 100 species of migratory birds to be found out here. Amongst the migrating birds are Common Teal, Black Tailed Godwin, Starling, Blue throat, Yellow Wagtail, Northern Pintail, Green Shank, etc. for observing these bird 4 tall watch towers (Machan) have been erected in the national park. The view of the sun set is very popular out here and many people love the scenic beauty of this place.

Complete exploration of this place takes around 2 hours and this place is very well known for its surrounding places of visit.
